Programme STEPS: teaching young people life skills

Teaching communication, self-management and cooperation skills to upper secondary school pupils.
STEPS handbook cover

The programme STEPS was developed to help young people gain various life skills, e.g. resolving conflicts or coping with complex relationships. These skills are necessary in work and life. Teachers – and anyone who works with young people – can use its tools to help pupils build these important skill sets, combining formal and informal learning opportunities with new teaching methods.

The project has produced 10 educational films that depict problematic situations based on real-life scenarios that were described by young people. It also offers handbooks for teachers (includes theory, activities, group work, games, elective modules and class materials) and for youth workers (includes informal activities and ideas for events and discussions).
