The activities are based on THRiVE’s four key priorities – aspiration, attainment, well-being and collaboration – and described in the THRiVE Matrix.

The initiative brings local community together to help children and young people gain:

  • Strong mental health including pride, self-confidence and hope for the future,
  • Success in schools leading to further education, training and employment,
  • Promotion of a supportive community, equality and positive community role models/champions.

The initiative is supported by a wide range of funders (collaborative investors) who invest in working together for the good of children and young people.

The key achievements of THRiVE so far include:

  • An improvement in attainment in literacy and numeracy and increased parental engagement in children’s learning,
  • Schools working together on a common assessment approach, collecting standardised data and using this to understand attainment to plan interventions in an agreed way,
  • A common attendance policy, with an early intervention approach to improving attendance,
  • Early years services working together on a common transition approach and producing a transition guide for parents.
