SELFIEforTEACHERS self-reflection tool now available for early childhood educators

The free resource, launched to mark World Teachers’ Day, is available to all educators across Europe and beyond, supporting their continuous professional learning and development. It is available in English, with other official EU languages to follow in the coming months. Piloted and tested in several countries, the self-reflection tool is designed to meet the diverse needs of early years educators across various countries and settings.

Originally designed for primary and secondary education, SELFIEforTEACHERS now provides early years educators with a structured self-reflection to help them assess their confidence and experience in using digital technologies. Completing the self-reflection (which takes around 25 minutes) supports educators in identifying their strengths and areas for growth. They receive a tailor-made report with tips and suggestions on how to further develop their digital skills. The tool emphasises the safe and developmentally appropriate use of technology, promoting practices that align with pedagogical principles and practice in early childhood education.

The tool allows anyone to start a self-reflection individually or take part in a group exercise, such as a group of colleagues in an early childhood centre or on a training programme. Results and feedback can be used to design personalised professional learning plans tailored to the needs of each educator.
