Participants in outdoor education workshops for teachers will gain practical experience and first-hand knowledge on how to integrate outdoor education into formal education. Our workshops will provide participants with tools, ideas, and best practices, as well as practical experience and first-hand knowledge on how to integrate outdoor education into formal education.

Description

DAILY PROGRAMME;Day 1
  • – Introduction to the course
  • – Activities for teambuilding
  • – Evaluation of requirements and expectations
  • – The fundamental principles and benefits of outdoor education and outdoor learning
  • – The importance of outdoor education for the development of one’s personal, social, and relationship skills
Day 2
  • – Outside, in the fresh air
  • – Experiential education and environmental education are studied in terms of their philosophy, theory, and methods.
  • – In the outdoors, participants can experiment with wilderness-based experiences, team-building activities, and orienteering exercises.
  • – Real-life case studies and insights on current teaching approaches and styles are included.
  • – Cultural activities in the city where the event will be held
Day 3
  • – Instructions on how to plan, design, and deliver outdoor education events
  • – Taking pupils into nature involves conducting a site and risk evaluation as well as considering health and safety concerns. (Risk Management Plan)
  • – Designing and planning outdoor educational activities is a practical part of work.
Day 4
  • – Nature as a setting for learning
  • – Work in the field includes facilitating outdoor educational activities in the natural environment.
  • – Environmental education debriefing, criticism, and best practice sharing are all part of the process.
  • – Teaching outside in urban environments is challenging because there isn’t merely nature outside the classroom door.
  • – Participating in group exercises and challenges, problem-solving games, and other experiential activities
  • – Developing your own outdoor instructional approach
Day 5
  • – The evaluation of the course includes a review of the skills and knowledge students have gained, as well as comments from the instructor and class discussion.
  • – The giving of the Certificate of Attendance upon course completion;
  • – Adventures and other cultural activities 

Learning objectives

 Teachers will be able to do the following:
  • Learn about the essential features and emerging trends in outdoor education and teaching outside of the classroom by attending this workshop.
  • Learn about and explore the ideas of outdoor education, as well as the cultural components of it.
  • Acquire knowledge on how to design, plan, and present inspirational outdoor education events.
  • Learn about and put into practice working strategies and concepts for environmental and outdoor education;
  • Acquaint theirselves with and participate in practical exercises and group games that could be used and integrated into a real-world course;
  • Participants will learn how to use outdoor education to help you with your personal, social, and relational development (e.g. self-confidence, team building, leadership…).
  • Participants will exchange best practices and share their outdoor education experiences with teachers and education staff from all over Europe during the conference.

Methodology & assessment

Needs Analysis and Surveys will be conducted by hosting organisaiton to the participants to figure out the needs and lacks of participants to adjust the course content according to their needs and wishes.
Presentations will be preapred by participants to show the current situation in their organisaitons and professional levels.
Demonstrations, Presentations, Discussions, Debates, Group Works, Warm-Up activities, Ice Breakers, Brainstorming, Social and Cultural Activities will be performed
Online Evaluations tools and Reviews will be used for assessment and collecting feedback.
Follow-Up activities will be undergone through a systematic plan.

Certification details

Participants will be awarded with a "Certificate of Attendance" If demanded, Europass Mobility Document stating the Personal, Professional, Language and Social objectives and gains of the activity will be issued on condition that the document is prepared by sending organisaiton Learning Agreement stating the Learning Outcomes, Tasks, Responsibilities, Course Content, Activities and other issues will be arranged before the activity by mutual signing.
