Description
Our courses, developed in the framework established by the Erasmus+ Programme, are crafted to include both formal and non-formal education methodologies. Starting with a theoretical approach to the Outdoor Ed., we proceed with non-formal learning strategies to guarantee and stimulate an active contribution from the participants.
To achieve our goals we implement:
- Analysis of study cases
- Role-plays
- Technical visits to local private and public institutions
- Conferences with local professionals to exchange good practices
- Workshops to rethink old practices and introduce new ones.
Learning objectives
- Learn how to take advantage of the environment that surrounds the school so that it can be experienced, enjoyed, and integrated into the academic curriculum.
- Address the fight against climate change and develop a school project that promotes environmental conservation.
- Improvement of his/her linguistic and cultural competence by sharing experiences with fellow participants.
- Getting awareness about strategies and resources on environmental conservation and physical-sports activities in the outdoors.
- Getting knowledge of different strategies to bring the class outdoors or bring the outdoors into the class.
- Getting awareness about the ICELANDIC Educational System at its different levels (Primary, Secondary, and VET)
Methodology & assessment
This course aims to provide teachers with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for effective outdoor education. The interactive and hands-on nature of the course will empower teachers to confidently incorporate outdoor learning into their teaching methodologies. Each participant will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas in a real communicative and enjoyable context.
At the end of the course, participants are expected to hand out an online portfolio on the NTR e-platform with their reflections and improvements.

Our courses are structured to enable you to request 9 days of individual support for your subsistence costs. This includes 7 course days and an additional 2 days for travel.
