Nature’s Lessons; a Pedagogical Journey Under Mount Olympus
Develop your skills to teach curriculum content in the outdoors – in the school yard, park; or even incorporating such awe inspiring settings as the mountains or by the sea. With the setting in hand we then look at finding suitable teaching metholologies by expanding the discussion about nature through alternative ways of thinking.

• Learn how to work in the outdoor environment as a classroom • Collect teaching media from the outdoor environment• Utilize experience-based learning and sensory awareness as an educational tool• Develop teaching and social skills through outdoor activities and lessons• Understand the health benefits, physical and mental, gained by taking learning into the outdoors• Gain knowledge about the theoretical basis of outdoor educational pedagogy, research and literature• learn about outdoor pedagogy and share experience and knowledge with others• Develop a personal activity plan – how to put new knowledge into action and how to support the school development in the field of outdoor learning• Take advantage of outdoor cultural spaces by overcoming difficulties• Plan cultural paths in nature
Learning objectives
- will teach the 3 key factors for Outdoor Education (personal and social development, outdoor activities and environmental education).
- will meet the best teaching practices that promote critical thinking
- will promote participation through theoretical background and practical training, cooperative work, various activities and discussions in nature.
- will have outdoor education opportunities to uncover unique histories
- will visit sights of historical significance and museums
