DAY 1 Introductory meeting, practical arrangements and ice-breakers and timetable presentation, expectations and motivation. Introduction to growth mindset by Carol DweckThe nature of the brain and intelligence.Mindset and motivation: setting challenges, dealing with setbacks, interpreting failures, facing criticism, and effort.Recognising fixed and growth mindset in a classroom.DAY 2Growth mindset language.Labelling and process-oriented feedback.Communicating high expectations.Positive self-talk.Brain growth conversation.DAY 3 Designing learning tasks with growth mindset principles: mistakes, deliberate practice, challenges, desirable difficulty, choice, learning goals, step-by-step, multiple exposures.Half-day excursion. DAY 4The role of the teacher in promoting different learning strategies.Assessment and growth mindset: autonomy, competence, relatedness.Coaching and fostering reflection in learning.DAY 5 Growth mindset – a hands-on workshop for students.Re-inventing the school culture with growth mindset principles.Integration of knowledge on growth mindset.DAY 6​Evaluation and farewell. Documentation and certificates of attendance.

Learning objectives

1.) Strategies to develop a growth mindset of the students.2.) Learning activities, assessment techniques and communication patterns using the growth mindset principles.3.) Developing the growth mindset in different contexts: digital education, on-site education, parent collaboration, and school culture.Suitable for all teachers regardless of the level of education and subject they teach. Besides teachers, the course content serves headmasters, adult trainers, and youth workers.

Methodology & assessment

1.) Self-directed activities accompanied by structured on-site sessions.
2.) Quizzes, peer discussions and learning activities redesign.
3.) Inquiry-based learning, reflection, flipped learning, and collaboration among the participants.
