Upper Silesia is an example of a region where industry has had a significant impact on the ecosystem. It has led to changes in the landscape, polluted the environment, and influenced the lives of people living there. Fortunately, for some time now, we have been able to observe a number of activities aimed at the revival of green Silesia. That is why it became an ideal place to implement the "Garden of Life" project, which is intended to help rebuild Ukraine. The project, implemented by peers from Nowowołyńsk and Tychy, concerns ecological and social activities. Participants (14- and 15-year-olds) discover the possibility of volunteering for other people and the environment. They observe how our activities can ruin the ecosystem of which we are an integral part, but they also try to counteract it. "The Garden of Life" is a miniature of the world in which we live, meet, play, create, and work. It is also a metaphor expressing the longing for peace and beauty that many children experiencing the war in Ukraine lack.
