This Eurydice report focuses on fostering sustainability skills and supporting teachers across 39 European education systems to meet the challenges of the green transition.

The report analyses how learning for sustainability is embedded in European curricula and to what extent sustainability competences align with the European GreenComp framework.

 

It further examines the roles of teachers and school leaders in promoting sustainability by addressing teacher competence frameworks, initial teacher education, professional development and school leadership.

 

Additionally, it explores whole-school approaches to sustainability, school support measures and monitoring efforts. Covering primary and general secondary education, the report relies on qualitative data on policies and support measures.
